Originally designed to be operated by adults using paintball guns or lasers, there is a new emerging market for these vehicles. Center Parcs for example, found that just offering them as leisure rides, without 'guns', they were able to put large numbers of people through their 4-tank site. The ride experience was sufficiently novel to allow them to break-even on capital outlay in just 8 weeks.

It would appear that a major emerging market for these vehicles is the 8-14 year olds. (That's a lot lower than quads/go-karts and doubles the potential number of drivers.) A simple course can be set up in a relatively small area of grass or concrete. We can offer advice - even the machinery - to set up a course which appears challenging to the new tank driver, but is quite safe even for children to tackle.

The tanks are powered by Honda GX-390 engines of 13 hp with simple hydraulic drive to each track. They are very easy to maintain and service - no chains or gears. The engines can be set by a marshal from tickover (for the youngsters) to full power for the more ambitious teenagers and adults. They can be fitted with a number of extras including paintball or laser guns, winches, and safety devices such as the Marshals Control Box which allows up to six tanks to be stopped and then re-started by radio control.

Another attraction is that you don't need to go very fast to enjoy it. The experience is so unlike a go-kart or a quad-bike, that all the stag and hen parties, corporate events etc. which have been doing these for years and are getting a bit bored with them, will be clamouring to be amongst the first to drive these awesome and realistic vehicles. Not only that - most people have never driven a track-laying vehicle before, (no steering wheel) so just driving around the car park is lots of fun. So youngsters can drive it safely at tick-over setting; while at full power, adults can play to their hearts content in the woods - or on an off road course.

You don't even need to play paintbal, laser-tag or Airsoft in it. Children down to the age of 8 can drive it safely - with minimal insurance - and it's the parent pound that pays for the 'go'. Typically £5 for a 5-minute lap through whatever obstacles you can create, will generate very useful net return on a day's work.
